Donald Trump, the president of the United States, recently released a tweet in which he slammed a Christian Magazine for supporting his impeachment by the House of Representatives. The outlet featured an editorial that argued for Trump’s removal from the White House.

In his tweet, Trump suggested the magazine hadn’t been doing so well in the last few years and hasn’t been involved with the Reverend who founded it, Billy Graham, for a long time. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Graham’s son and many others came to his aide.
Reverend Franklin Graham, who is the head of the Evangelistic Association for his father, took to his Twitter account on Friday and said his father would be “disappointed” in what the outlet had become in recent years.
Moreover, Graham added that his father, who passed away in 2018, had voted for the president. He explained that Christianity Today is a representation of the “leftist elite” among Evangelical Christians in the United States.
During a conversation with The Associated Press, Graham claimed the outlet doesn’t represent those who worship the Bible in the community. Currently, the magazine sells around 130,000 magazines per year. Reportedly, Trump is very popular among his base, the evangelical Christians.
During an interview with Galli on CNN on Friday, he stated that the president’s description of the magazine as a far-left extremist organization was “far from accurate.” However, Galli, who’s gearing up to quit his job for retirement in January of next year, stated he knew there was going to be an impact from Trump’s comments.

As it was previously reported, Congress voted on both articles of impeachment earlier this week, however, it still has to go to the Senate where the president will stand trial. Thus far, the reaction to it on social media has been mixed, with some people arguing it was clearly motivated by partisanship, and others arguing it was a demonstration of the fact Democracy works.
