Teigan Power has found love again.
Almost two years after splitting from ex-husband Alex McKinnon, the popular Instagram influencer on Thursday night shared a photo of her new boyfriend for the first time.
The former NRL star and Power have on several occasions said their relationship remains close after separating in January, 2022.
The couple were together for 12 years before their separation. Stresses involved with raising a young family were reportedly the primary cause of the marriage breakdown.
The couple’s children — twin girls, Audrey and Violet, and their eldest daughter Harriet — were seen all smiles during Christmas celebration photos Power has shared this week.
One of the photos posted on Thursday night showed Power kissing boyfriend Jake Nelson while the family attended a Hunter Valley Gardens Christmas Lights event.
Power captioned the post: “Riding the Christmas train”.
Nelson commented: “Appreciate you”.
Power responded by commenting: “Appreciate you hunni”.
The post was flooded with congratulatory posts from Power’s 40,000 Instagram followers.
McKinnon in May showed how close their relationship remains when he shared a heartfelt tribute to his estranged wife for Mother’s Day.
McKinnon posted a black and white photo to his Instagram stories of Teigan Power sitting in a field with their twin girls, Audrey Jill and Violet John, and their older daughter, Harriet Anne.
“Happy Mother’s Day,” he wrote, tagging his former partner and including a flower bouquet emoji.
Their love story inspired the country as the former Newcastle Knights star began to recover from the tragic football incident in 2014 that left him confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life.
McKinnon said at the time he and Power will be together for the rest of their lives.
“We are still really close,” McKinnon said when asked about Teigan.
“Being a parent is such an important job and having a strong relationship with their mum is just as important.
“We are still good friends, we both realise we are role models for the kids and we need to show them that being supportive of each other is the only way to be.
He went on to say: “Parenting while able-bodied is difficult, we all need to adapt.
“But the girls are great. Even at their age, they are so caring, very aware and very accepting.
“Even if I just look like I need a drink or if I drop my phone, they are straight onto it. We have never taught them that, it has just come naturally.”
McKinnon played 49 NRL games before his career was tragically cut short when he suffered a devastating spinal cord injury playing for the Newcastle Knights in March 2014.
He was diagnosed a quadriplegic and proposed to Power from his hospital bed just days after the devastating accident.
Teigan has always been by his side since they left high school together — and the pair got married in 2017 in front of family and friends after McKinnon fulfilled his promise to rise from his wheelchair on their wedding day.
